got my mojo back

Feeling a little better this afternoon, so I decided to take another try at the mojo sketch. As my friend Ruthie says, I "stretched" the sketch a little - I flipped it sideways and broke out the girlie stuff, since this one isn't for my brother.

PP are from Making Memories Noteworthy collection, ribbon by American Crafts, flowers & pearls from Target $pot a few seasons back, stamp from CTMH Card Sentiments. I think CS is Bazill, but can't remember for certain - bought it at LSS quite awhile ago. I just love working with textured papers.

And in case you're wondering what the secret is... it's a quote from Lucille Ball. It finishes... "to live honestly, eat slowly, and lie about your age."

home sick with the mojo

So I'm home sick today with a stomach virus. Nothing too vicious, but nothing we need to pass around at work, either.

This left me with lots of time to make my brother's birthday card, and no brain power or creative inspiration to do so. So I started surfing my favorite websites and stumbled upon a sketch challenge at Mojo Monday. It seemed like the perfect opportunity to finally try one out, and maybe even post it.

I rummaged through my supplies and found: bravo burgundy CS from SU, swirly paper from CTMH, acrylic stamps from CTMH, some generic CS and brads from my stash, and acrylic paints from Making Memories.

So - totally not up to my usual self picky standards, but with a broken cutter, I couldn't do too many layers, and I just couldn't seem to wrap my fuzzy head around proportions. You can't see it very well from the photo, but the red paint is actually a metallic glaze. Without the shimmer, the card looks rather blah, sort of how I'm feeling today!

Just in case the photo won't load for you, here is the photobucket link.

I'm off to take a nap and hope my inspiration will return!
